The cost of this mission is 978 crores.  After a technical disruption a week ago the launch of Chandrayaan-2 was stopped.

New Delhi: India's second ambitious mission Chandrayaan-2 on the moon was launched from Sriharikota on Monday through the most powerful rocket GSLV-Mark III-M1.  The launch of Chandrayaan-2 from the second launch pad at Satish Dhawan Space Center, about 100 km from Chennai, was launched at 2:30 pm.  The cost of this mission is 978 crores.  After a technical disruption a week ago the launch of Chandrayaan-2 was stopped.  Scientists of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) had stopped it at 1.55 pm after the announcement from Mission Control Room 56 minutes 24 seconds before the launch of the mission on 15 July.  Many veteran scientists also praised ISRO for this step.

They said that taking action in a hurry could lead to a bigger accident.  Three days earlier it was announced the new date for launch was announced.  ISRO announced that a countdown for 20 hours was started for launch on Sunday evening at six o'clock 43 minutes.
